Art and Printmaking (Woodcuts, Linocuts, Monotypes, Monoprints, Drypoints, Etchings, Collographs and Stencil prints - printed on an etching press)
For my Every Day Matters group, we are challenged to draw or paint a streetlight this week, Challenge #81. Mine is a pelican sitting on a lamppost on the Santa Barbara Pier. I took the photograph about two years ago, and painted it as soon as I got home, using soft pastels.

This is FABULOUS!!! GREAT job on the perspective, light, and even the rust on the lamp!!! WONDERFUL!
Wow, this is gorgeous!! I have forgotten how beautiful soft pastels can be. The perspective is so wonderful too.
I was looking at the other posts here and you create such beautiful art!!
Wow, I love this one, beautiful colors and so inspiring!
Simply beautiful! You captured the seashore sunlight cast upon the lantern superbly ( seashore sunlight seems to have it's own unique glow). Excellent work!
This is magical---all those warm cool colors (you know what I mean) and the suspended lantern making such a dynamic composition. Something about this reminds me a little of Chris Van Allsburg's children's book illustrations. Makes me want to try soft pastels!
this is beautiful! great angle and detail!
